Counselling is a collaborative process, where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences, in confidence and without judgement.
You might benefit from counselling if you are interested in understanding yourself better, to learn and develop coping strategies, and/or make positive changes in your life.
The NHS Website states - "Therapy provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. Your therapist will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.
A counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice or prescribe medication. They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems."
The heart of my counselling philosophy is the belief that the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is key to effective therapy. When a client feels that a counsellor really, truly sees and understands them without any judgement, the potential for healing to take place is created in the client and they are able to move forward.

Creativity and the ability to express ourselves artistically is a trait unique to humans. Talking therapy is extremely therapeutic and beneficial for clients, however, I know that there are times when words are insufficient, and I encourage clients to express themselves in whatever way is most comfortable for them, whether through words, art, creativity, worksheets aids, and/or being outdoors with nature.
I understand that for many clients the thought of expressing themselves creatively can be frightening, and I never expect anyone to do anything they don't want to do, it's the client's choice,

Questions will be asked, such as to the reason/s you are seeking counselling and what you hope to get out of your counselling time. Attending the initial appointment does not obligate you to continue, it's a chance to see if we are both happy to continue with sessions.
After that, you can book your first session with me and payment is required at the time of booking and can be made via bank transfer.
I will email or post a copy of our 'Working Agreement' and we will go through it together in our first session and I can answer any questions you may have.
